The current position
There are no affiliate links, sponsored posts or paid placements on this site, and no supplier pays to be mentioned. Where a guide names a product, it is an example of a type of tool, not a recommendation.
How an affiliate link would work
If the site joins an affiliate programme in future, Paul may earn a commission when you sign up for or buy something through a marked link. The terms depend on each programme. A commission does not necessarily mean you pay more, but it does not guarantee the best price either, so compare prices yourself.
How affiliate links would be labelled
Any link that could earn a commission will be labelled "Ad" or "Ad: affiliate link" next to the link itself, with a short note explaining it. If a whole page is mainly promoting a product, that will be clear at the top of the page. Labels will be just as visible on a phone as on a computer.
This page explains the policy, but it is not a substitute for those labels. You should never need to come here to find out whether a link is commercial.
Free products, trial access or gifts from a supplier will be disclosed in the same way.
Commission will not change the advice
The guides decide what a business should look for before any commercial relationship is considered. A product will not be recommended because it pays a commission, and guides will still include options that pay nothing. How the guides are checked is set out in how we assess guides and tools.
Your choice
You are always free to go straight to a supplier without using a link from this site. Suppliers are responsible for their own products, prices and contracts, and their own privacy and cookie policies apply on their websites.
