Who runs this site
Systemise Your Trade is a free website run by Paul as a sole trader. It is not a company. The privacy notice explains who is responsible for any personal information you send. You can contact the site at info@systemiseyourtrade.com.
Using the site does not create a contract for paid services. Nothing is sold here, and running a tool or sending an email does not sign you up to anything.
Using the site
You can read, print and use the site for your own business. Please use it lawfully: don't try to break into it, interfere with how it works, add harmful code or misuse other people's information.
Don't type customer names, addresses or other personal details into the tools. They don't need them, and you stay responsible for what you enter and how you use the results.
The guides are not professional advice
The guides cover running the office side of a trade business: calls, quotes, job records, getting paid and choosing software. They are general information, not legal, tax, accounting, financial or technical safety advice.
Nothing on this site tells you how to carry out gas, electrical or structural work, or whether an installation is safe. Use a qualified and registered professional, the manufacturer's instructions and your own approved procedures for that. In a gas emergency, call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999 (0800 002 001 in Northern Ireland).
Where a guide summarises a law or official rule, it links to the source, and those sources are rechecked every month. Rules change, so check the source before relying on it, and take professional advice where the stakes are high.
What the tools can and cannot tell you
The missed call calculator shows what your missed calls could be worth as bookings, using only the figures you enter. It is an illustration, not a forecast or a measure of money lost, and booked value is not profit.
The software checklist turns your answers into three priorities using rules printed on its page. It does not rate or recommend any product, and it does not guarantee that a system will suit you.
Check the figures and assumptions before acting on any result.
Suppliers, prices and products
Where a guide mentions a type of product or a supplier, it is an example, not a recommendation. No supplier's product has been tested for this site. Prices, features and contract terms change, so check them directly with the supplier, in writing, before you commit.
Copyright and what you can reuse
The words, routines and tools on this site are Paul's copyright, apart from third-party material such as photographs, fonts and software, which belong to their owners.
You can, without asking:
- print the checklists and guides for yourself and your team
- adapt the routines and templates for use inside your own business
- save and share your own tool results within your business
Please ask first before you republish substantial parts of the site, sell or give away the guides or templates as your own, copy the tools, or use the name in a way that suggests the site endorses you. Quoting a short passage with a link back is fine.
You keep all rights in your own information and results. The site does not claim any of it.
Links to other websites
Links to official sources and other sites are there for reference. A link is not an endorsement, and those sites' own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them. If the site ever carries affiliate links, they will be labelled as described in the affiliate disclosure.
Mistakes, changes and availability
Care goes into every guide, but mistakes can happen and information can go out of date. If you spot one, email info@systemiseyourtrade.com with the page and what you think is wrong; it will be checked and corrected where needed. The site may change, move or be unavailable at times, so keep your own copies of anything you rely on. If these terms change, the new version will replace this page.
Limits of responsibility
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot legally be limited, and your statutory rights are not affected.
Beyond that, and as far as the law allows, Paul is not responsible for losses that were not a foreseeable result of a failure to take reasonable care, or for business decisions you make using the guides or tools. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and nothing in them stops you using the courts available to you where you live in the UK.
